Firefly Villas is a boutique hotel in central Ubud, Bali. It sits peacefully among the rice fields with various types of lodging available. From luxe air-conditioned rooms, small villas and backpacker-style “nests”, this hotel has set itself apart from the vast other hotels on the island. The infinity pool looks over rice fields, with an oversized swing for both adults and child alike to play, and a comfortable common area where guests are served breakfast, hang out with beers at the end of the day and enjoy a traditional Indonesian dinner.

The hotel has rave reviews but there was noticeably one thing lacking - music. With nothing to set the vibe, guests sometimes played music from their phones, which created a disjointed effect with the villa’s beautiful and natural surroundings.

After working closely with the owner and surveying the scene, The Vibe Project put the cherry on top of one of Bali’s most remarkable spaces. With early morning, late morning, afternoon and evening playlists, Firefly Villas’ sound was a mix of soft female & male vocalists, easy bossa nova, some Indonesian folk & vintage & modern musique à la France.
